Optometrist Near Mount Gravatt

For Mount Gravatt residents who would rather see an unhurried, owner-operated optometrist than a busy shopping-centre chain, Holland Park Eyecare is just a short drive north along Logan Road.

A short drive up Logan Road

Logan Road links Mount Gravatt and Upper Mount Gravatt straight to our clinic in Holland Park West, so the trip in is quick and direct — no need to fight for a park at Westfield Garden City to get your eyes tested. If you are near Griffith University's Mount Gravatt campus, the showgrounds or the Logan Road shops, we are only minutes away.

Choosing an independent practice over a shopping-centre franchise means a calmer visit and genuine continuity of care: you see the same optometrist each time, and your eye health is followed properly over the years rather than handled by whoever is rostered on.

The full range of eye care

Mount Gravatt patients come to us for everything from a routine eye test to specialised care. Every comprehensive examination is a thorough 45 to 60 minutes and screens for glaucoma, cataract, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. We also fit contact lenses, manage dry eye, provide myopia management for children, and bulk bill everyone under 18.

When you need glasses, we are an exclusive Rodenstock practice. Their B.I.G. VISION™ lenses are calculated from the individual biometry of your own eyes rather than an average template — and we pair them with frames from our curated collection of independent European brands you will not find in a chain store.

Know the cost before you book

Unlike many practices that make you call to find out the price, we publish our fees in full. Mount Gravatt patients can see exactly what an eye examination costs, what Medicare pays back, and the out-of-pocket figure before booking — with bulk billing for children under 18 and a reduced fee for pension card holders.

See our full eye test cost and Medicare rebates page for the complete fee breakdown.

Common questions

A comprehensive eye examination at Holland Park Eyecare is allocated 45–60 minutes. This is significantly longer than a standard appointment, and intentionally so. We use that time to conduct thorough testing, explain what we find, answer your questions, and discuss any eyewear or treatment options — without any rush.

The fees section on this page shows the full breakdown — fee, Medicare rebate, and out-of-pocket cost — for each consultation type. Most patients receive a $67.85 rebate for a comprehensive eye examination and $34.00 for a subsequent consultation. Rebates are processed on the day via our HICAPS terminal — most patients receive their rebate instantly, though it can take up to 24 hours.

For most adults with no existing conditions, we recommend a comprehensive eye exam every two years. If you have diabetes, glaucoma risk, a strong prescription, or a family history of eye disease, annual exams are recommended. Children and patients over 65 also benefit from more frequent monitoring. We'll advise you on the right interval at your appointment.

No referral is needed to see an optometrist. You can book directly with us. If during your examination we identify something that requires specialist ophthalmology care, we will refer you appropriately and provide a detailed clinical summary for the specialist.
